This guide introduces the OVHcloud Well-Architected Framework and gives you access to its latest version.

What is the OVHcloud Well-Architected Framework?

The OVHcloud Well-Architected Framework is a set of best practices and guiding questions that helps organisations design, assess, and improve Public Cloud workloads. It is primarily intended for cloud architects and infrastructure and operations teams. Its main objective is to provide a consistent way to assess whether an architecture is secure, reliable, efficient, and cost-effective.

It is organised around six pillars: operational excellence, security, reliability, performance efficiency, cost optimisation, and sustainability. Each pillar comes with design principles and concrete questions, so that reviews are structured and repeatable rather than based on individual opinion. The framework also surfaces high- and medium-risk issues early, before they turn into outages, security incidents, or cost overruns.

One key benefit is a prioritised improvement plan, which lets teams focus effort where the risk or business impact is greatest. Because reviews can be repeated over time, organisations can measure progress and keep workloads aligned with best practices as they evolve.
