Logs Data Platform

Collect, process, analyse and store the logs of your infrastructure and applications in a full-featured, managed platform.

Logs Data Platform guides

Logs Data Platform is a turnkey, pay-as-you-go managed platform that increases visibility into your applications' environments by collecting, processing, analysing and storing your logs. It ingests the logs generated by your infrastructure and your applications, indexes them on a highly available and scalable infrastructure, displays them in real-time dashboards and lets you run complex queries with sub-second results.

It supports the full OpenSearch ecosystem and stays compatible with the tools you already use โ€” Graylog, Grafana, Logstash, Flowgger and Filebeat โ€” through standard protocols such as GELF, Syslog and LTSV. Log transfers are TLS-encrypted, retention is configurable from 14 days to 1 year, and alerting and API access are included.

The lifecycle of your logs runs through four phases, and these guides follow the same order:

  • Generation โ€” your applications and systems produce logs, which you forward using a logging library or a log forwarder.
  • Ingestion โ€” the platform inputs receive your logs, validate them and can enrich them before storage.
  • Storage โ€” your logs are kept as indexed data, as archives, or both.
  • Consumption โ€” you display, query, graph and alert on your logs.

To find the right guide for your needs:

  • Are you discovering the product? Start with the Getting started section.
  • Do you want to send logs to the platform? See the Ingesting your logs section, which lists the available inputs, libraries and forwarders.
  • Do you want to exploit the logs already stored? See the Visualizing, querying and exploiting your logs section.
  • Are you looking for the logs of your other OVHcloud products? See the OVHcloud Service Logs section.

Use cases

  • Managed Kubernetes Service โ€” forward your cluster and audit logs to Logs Data Platform.
  • Managed VMware โ€” collect the logs of your VMware on OVHcloud environment into a Logs Data Platform stream.
  • Public Cloud Databases โ€” forward the logs of your managed database services to your own Logs Data Platform stream.
