What is the Analyzer?
The Analyzer is the first quality gate on incoming data. It runs against a registered source before any of that data reaches a project table, so problems in structure, typing and formatting are caught at the door rather than after a load has written them into the Lakehouse.
It does two things.
Metadata extraction reads the shape of the source objects: the fields they expose, their types, and the volumes involved. Every downstream Load action builds on that metadata, so a source has to be analyzed before its objects can be loaded.
Blueprint rules are the cleaning layer on top. A blueprint is a named set of conditions and transformations applied to a source object as its data passes through, so date formats, casing, numeric precision and null handling follow one standard across every source feeding the project.
Extract the metadata first. Blueprint rules are written against fields the Analyzer has already found.
