# Zimbra Pro - Configuring your email account via ActiveSync on Gmail for Android

This guide is aimed at customers with the email solution [Zimbra Pro](https://www.ovhcloud.com/en-gb/emails/zimbra-emails/). This service will be available in beta version from July 2025.

Zimbra Pro email accounts can be configured on an Android mobile using the ActiveSync protocol. This allows you to configure all the collaborative features of your email address at once. The Google Gmail app is available for free from the Google Play Store on Android.

## Requirements
- A [Zimbra Pro](https://www.ovhcloud.com/en-gb/emails/zimbra-emails/) account
- The Gmail app installed on your device
- The login details for the email account you would like to configure

This guide has been written using a device that uses Android version 14.

## Instructions
### Add the [](#) account
- **When you start the Gmail application for the first time**, a configuration wizard will appear:
- Press `Add another email address`.
- **If an account is already set up on the Gmail application**:
- Tap the profile picture at the top right of your screen.
- Then press the + Add another account button.
Follow the installation steps by clicking on the **4** tabs below:
**Step 1**
Select Exchange and Office 365 as the account type.
**Step 2**
Enter your email address and press Next.
**Step 3**
Enter the password for your email address and press Next.
**Step 4**
Check and complete the following information:
- **Email**: This field is pre-filled with the email address you entered earlier. Please check that your email address is complete and correct.
- **Password**: This field is pre-filled with the password entered earlier.
- **Domain\Username**: Enter your full email address.
- **Server**: Enter "zimbra1.mail.ovh.net".
- **Port**: Leave the value "443" as the default.
To finalize the configuration, press Next.
### Use the email address
Once you have configured your email address, you can start using it! You can now send and receive messages, and manage your calendars and tasks.
OVHcloud also offers a web application that allows you to access your email address from an internet browser. You can log in to the [OVHcloud webmail](https://www.ovhcloud.com/en-gb/mail/) using your email credentials. ### How do I modify existing settings? [](#)
To modify the settings of an email account that has already been configured, follow the instructions below:
1. Tap the menu `☰` in the top left-hand corner.
2. Then press `Settings` at the bottom of the left column.
3. Select the account.
4. At the bottom of the page that appears, press `Receive Settings`.
5. Refer to the **Step 4** in the "[Add Account](#add-account)" chapter to verify the account settings.
### How do I delete an email account? [](#)
1. Tap the menu `☰` in the top left-hand corner.
2. Then press `Settings` at the bottom of the left column.
3. Tap the menu `⋮` in the top right-hand corner, then tap `Manage accounts`.
4. Select the account.
5. Finally, press `Delete account`.
