# Backup Licenses - Known restrictions

## Objective

**This guide details the known restrictions and limitations of the Backup Licenses product that you should be aware of before ordering your licence.**

## Known restrictions

### Veeam Backup & Replication version

- Our infrastructure only supports Veeam Backup & Replication servers running **version 12 or higher**. A VBR server on an earlier version cannot be connected to the OVHcloud Veeam Service Provider Console (VSPC), and therefore cannot be assigned a licence.

### Operating system and available editions

- VBR servers running on **Linux** (Veeam Software Appliance) only support **Veeam Data Platform (VDP)** licences: Foundation, Advanced or Premium.
- The **Veeam Enterprise Plus** edition is only available for VBR servers running on **Windows**.

The table below summarises the possible combinations:
